National Open Field Coursing Association (1964)

The purpose of NOFCA is:
(1) To preserve and enhance the ability of gazehounds to pursue and capture wild game on its own ground.
(2) To educate and encourage gazehound breeders to recognize that the coursing ability inherent in gazehounds is an essential element of the gazehound type.
(3) To provide opportunities to assess coursing ability by encouraging the organization of regulated open field coursing meets and related activities.
(4) To provide a uniform set of rules for the organization and conducting of open field coursing meets so that an honest, ethical, objective appraisal of coursing ability may result.
(5) To maintain records of the results of coursing meets, determining the system of awards, classifications and titles used in and resulting from them.
(6) To do all in its power to protect and advance the
sport of open field coursing by encouraging consideration of landowners and sportsman-like conduct.
(7) To encourage veterinary, physiological and behavioral studies leading to a better understanding of coursing hounds.

NOFCA News is a companion site to NOFCA.org, designed a an educational and news tool for the general public and member access. The site contains the latest in rules, constitution/by-laws updates, coursing articles, pictures and videos. Contribution by members is encourage.
